DR. MICHELLE ZANDVOORT
Dr Zandvoort is fully trained as an EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) practitioner. This enables her to apply this approach to trauma-related difficulties such as Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD). She has specialist knowledge, training and experience in a range of life issues and mental health difficulties. These include relationship difficulties, trauma, burnout due to work stress, depression, anxiety, addictions (substance misuse, alcoholism gambling), obsessive compulsive behaviours, food issues, personality difficulties and bipolar depression. She also offers consultations for couples and families who want to improve their relationships and learn to cope in healthy ways with difficulties they may be experiencing e.g. coping with the substance misuse/alcoholism of a family member or partner. In addition, she offers individual Mindfulness-based therapy for depression and Mindfulness based-stress reduction courses for people who are unable due to a variety of factors attend a set group course.
Over the past 10 years Dr Zanvoort has gained extensive clinical experience and knowledge in NHS Primary Care, NHS Community Mental Health Teams, a NHS Specialist Psychology Service, Community Counselling Services and Community Drug and Alcohol Services. In addition she had worked in the private sector for The Priory Hospital Group, facilitating a range of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy groups, and at Bayberry Clinic, a residential clinic for addictions and mental health problems, which she co-founded and opened in 2010.
